Materiality is a critical and meaningful medium for exploring the multifaceted material encounters that humans create and adapt to effectively use material entities. How we approach the study of materiality is linked to different venues to provide a comprehensive lens to consider what are material entities—iron bodies, water tanks, pipes, filters—in order to understand material culture.
Conceptualizations of material entities are based on interpretations of various kinds of material forms that have been invoked as an integral manifestation of human consciousness of the everyday merging with daily practices. Indeed, material bodies may illuminate the conceptual means that relate the socio-political and cultural context with the wider structure of time, space, relations, language, economic exchange, and consumption.
